On July 8, DK Shivakumar instructed IDD to evaluate Harohalli as potential site — adding to existing list including Nelamangala, Somanahalli and Chudahalli. Now final 3 locations in consideration, 2 of them on Kanakapura Road — Kaggalipura (25 km), Harohalli (35 km), and Nelamangala-Kunigal (45 km).
All within 25-45 km from city centre — proposal already sent to Centre and 9,000 acres project could become largest airport in India — double KIA footprint.
