BDA gets nod to develop six layouts along 53 km PRR-2 — largest over 4,200 acres on Kanakapura — zone covers Kaggalipura, one of three shortlisted airport sites — this stretch will form critical part of PRR-2 linking Tumakuru to Hosur through Magadi, Mysuru, Kanakapura.

Three finalists are Kaggalipura, Harohalli and Chikkasolur, the former two being on Kanakpura Road and the last coming along the Nelamangala–Kunigal road — all between 25-45 km from Bengaluru's city centre — and proposal for 4,500 acres of land for airport.
